Abstract
The authors present the results of empirical research that found the presence of high-level negative mental states (rigidity, anxiety, aggression and frustration) in a significant number of staff of educational organizations. Educational organizations were shown to have problems in the development of their organizational culture (low level of person culture, low level of organizational culture, etc.). There were negative and positive statistically significant relationships between the levels of organizational culture and the levels of staff's negative mental states. This was observed when high-level positive organizational cultures (person and task cultures) and high-level general organizational culture had positive effects on staffs' negative mental states. However, power culture, which is considered a negative organizational culture, on the contrary, increased educational organization staff's aggressiveness. The study did not reveal the impact of role culture on educational organization staff's negative mental states. Besides, it was found that highly developed educational organizations' general organizational culture had positive effects on educational organization staff's negative mental states. It was concluded that educational organizations' culture might be an important determinant of educational organization staff's negative mental states in conditions of social tension.
