Abstract
The section dwells on the communication between the psychologist and the population through printed (text) media from the perspective of humanistic psychology and psychotherapy. It has been established that dialogue-like communication (in contrast to manipulative or purely informative one) is most suitable for victims of traumatic events, since it reveals the need of people not only for information but also for respect, equal relationships, compassion, humaneness etc. It has been proved that one significant quality of dialogue-like communication is the autonomy of the reader's personality, media psychologist, as well as the editor of the printed publication, on which the dialogicity of the psychological text depends to a certain extent. The perspectives of "the psychologist with the population" communication through print, text media in modern conditions of socio-cultural crisis have been outlined in order to increase the dialogic competence of reading citizens of Ukraine, their ability to resist destructive manipulative impact of information.
