Abstract
This paper is devoted to the problem of syntactic competence formation in the pupils of 9th grade at the lessons on Ukrainian language. Based on the work of the researchers in the area of linguistics and linguodidactics and own experimental results, the author proposes refined definition of “syntactic competence”. The system of exercises and tasks of innovative methodology, which was developed considering competence, personally- and activity-oriented approaches is described. This system consists of complex, constructive exercises that are based on text-oriented approach and include situational, creative tasks and tasks for the development of pupils reflective skills. The summarized results of experiment which was dedicated to the investigation of state of the Ukrainian language syntax learning in the 8th-9th grade of secondary school are presented. The evaluation criteria of syntactic competence and its performance are characterized. Based on the determined criteria the level of formation of syntactic competence in the pupils of 9th grade is clarified. The interim results of formative stage of experiment which is characterized by positive dynamics of development of syntactic competence in the pupils of 9th grade are analyzed.
