Abstract

While solving the scientific problem of using the information and communication technologies as tools for forming the senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning, the following main results are obtained: the theoretical analysis of the problem of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning is performed; the system of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning is designed; the ICT tools for chemistry learning, which will contribute to the development of pupils’ research competencies, is defined; the model of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning using ICT is theoretically grounded and developed; the methodic of using information and communication technologies as tools of forming the senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning (consists of three main blocks: the target – the formation of senior pupils’ research competencies, the content – the study of the basics of quantitative chemical analysis as a universal course for various chemical profiles, the technology – ICT tools, methods and forms of their usage in the chemistry profile learning) is developed and its effectiveness is tested by the experiment. The scientific novelty and the theoretical value of the obtained results contain the following: the author grounds theoretically and develops for the first time the next points: the model of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning using ICT, that consists of the target block (contains components that determine the purpose of the model – the formation of research competences using ICT), the conceptual one (reflecting modern approaches to the implementation of the competence approach in the chemistry profile learning, it includes the normative documents, the chemistry learning content, the expert evaluation as a main tool of selection and the designed system of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning), the technological one (that contains the system of ICT tools for formation of senior pupils’ research competences in the chemistry profile learning, which is correlated with the methods of the chemistry profile learning and the forms of organization of pupils’ educational and research activities in chemistry, and identifies the ways to achieve the goal of the model) and the diagnostic-resulting one (that contains the predicted result of the model application – to increase the level of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning, and a set of the evaluation criteria, the indicators, the levels of research competences and the tools for diagnosing the formation of senior pupils’ research competencies that is designed to establish the efficacy of the achieving results); the system of senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning, which includes three groups: 1) the general scientific competencies related to the mastery of the universal research methods that are necessary for the research activity in any scientific discipline; 2) the natural science competencies related to the research of real natural objects and their interconnections, and that are necessary for the research activities in the field of Natural Sciences; 3) the chemical competencies related to the mastery of special chemical research methods that are necessary for the research activities in different branches of chemistry; the author improves the forms, methods and tools of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies by means of development and implementation of computer-oriented teaching aids; the author continues the further development of scientific ideas about ways and tools of informatization of educational process in institutions of general secondary education; the structure and content of senior pupils’ research competencies; ICT as a tools of formation of senior pupils’ research competencies; theoretical and methodical principles of chemistry profile learning; criteria, indicators and levels of formation of the senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning using ICT. The practical significance of the thesis research’s results is as follows: the methodic of using the information and communication technologies as tools for forming the senior pupils’ research competencies in the chemistry profile learning is developed and implemented; the computer-oriented elective course „Basics of quantitative chemical analysis” for 10 grade pupils of specialized schools and appropriate teaching and methodical support (in particular, that includes the virtual laboratory workshop, the electronic teaching aids, the means for diagnosing the pupils’ knowledge) are developed and implemented, the virtual chemical laboratory „Virtual Lab” is localized in Ukrainian; Moodle plugin VlabEmbed for supporting the chemical learning research is developed. The thesis results can also be used for the organization of chemical learning research in the secondary and higher school using ICT, in the process of professional training and retraining of chemistry teachers; in self-education activity of senior pupils.
