Abstract

A literary confession, which contains the elements of catharsis, remorse and repentance, has a psychotherapeutic effect as it involves an ontological transformation, making an individual a whole person. The external control of the senses becomes the internal report of conscience. A break from the past forms another individual through moral and strong-willed impulses that allow focusing on certain modes of consciousness and strategy. This process is based on the trinity of being-know-want. This is a way of life for a new personality. The key insight of repentance is the acceptance of a new way of life. A literary confession as an open narration has a certain invisible structure and functions which include removal of pseudo-truth, understanding of something (the moral interpretation of the facts), discrediting the shameful that then acts as the national experience, i.e. the commandment. This takes place under the pressure of life. This control of the individuals and their actions and thoughts leads to the individuals’ moralization. The genre of literary confession disciplines individuals via the natural combination of truth and values, thinking theory with behavioral practices.
