Abstract

The article analyzes the features of studying Pediatrics in undergraduate students of Dentistry Faculty in the Higher State Educational Establishment of Ukraine «Bukovinian State Medical University». On the study of Pediatrics by the 4th-year students of Dentistry Faculty are allocated 45 hours, including 20 hours of constitute practical classes, 10 hours – lectures and 15 hours are spending on the individual work. Total pediatric program consists of two modules, namely the physiological characteristics and pathological conditions in newborns and young children, and the most common somatic diseases, and is estimated using standardized MCQ at the beginning and the end of classes and solution of clinical situational cases. When setting marks for the module are recorded the results of testing, oral response and average score for learning of the discipline. Combined system of practical classes and individual students work during the entire training cycle of Pediatrics, allows students of the Dentistry Faculty to receive basic theoretic knowledge and to form a clinical judgment.
