Abstract

The report raises the question of the qualitative uniqueness of psychic life and its attributes. Methodological approaches to the epistemology of the nature of the human psyche, its basic functions and development tendencies are analyzed. The role and tasks of psychological science as a subject of cognition of the essence of the mental and its certain aspects are considered. It is assumed, that the rapid expansion of the boundaries of modern scientific psychology is not associated with a deepening of the understanding of the psyche or the search for new trends in its development. Other recent and future problems of scientific psychology as the main subject of cognition of mental being and as an epistemological basis for psychological practice are analyzed.
