Abstract
The author examines the trends in the development and reform of education in the context of information society. It is noted that the use of electronic educational resources (EER) in the educational process in secondary schools ensures equal access for all participants in the educational process to quality teaching and learning materials, increase the motivation of students, develop students' XXI century skills, which contributes to improving the quality of education, and also allows teachers to make lessons more interesting, use of time in class rationally, include a variety of activities that are necessary for students with different types of perception of educational material. It is considered the various approaches to classification of EER, the main of which are by a division of the functional purpose, by a purpose, by a group of users, in terms of grouping, by a type of location, by the nature of basic data, etc.
