Abstract

In the article the author outlines the trends of literary conceptions development and their influence on directions of literary studies methods development and the problems of modern literary education in general educational establishments of Ukraine. The correlation of literary study and methodology is taken into account in the aspect of co-operation, rationality of combination of scientific and educational methods of activity in the pedagogical process. It is stressed on the idea that the decision of problems of literary education at school is conditioned by the achievements of literary study , which investigates the specificity of word art, serves as an original tool for the effective analysis of literary work, forms the corresponding conceptual vehicle of a student-reader. The combination of basic scientific methods of cognition : historical and formal is specified on . A clear trend of progress in modern methods of Ukrainian literature teaching is examined on existential-dialogic basis. The tendency of the literary study is distinguished taking into account the historical principle which foresees the illumination of typological connections of the artistic work with the cultural and art phenomena in a wide context of social and historical process. It is marked on the tendency of competence literary study, which foresees forming the students’ understanding of fiction as an inalienable making part of native and world culture, realization of specificity of literature as type of art, knowledge of literary works, obligatory for a textual study, key stages and phenomena of the literary process, basic facts of life and creation of the greatest writers, abilities to analyze and interpret a literary work taking into consideration its artistic signs, understanding of the authorial position and the methods of its expression, use of theoretical and literary knowledge during the prosecution of the text of the artistic work, development of capacities for creation of verbal and writing creative works, realizationed use of the knowledge obtained at the lessons of literature in new educational and vital situations. 2 The tendency of technological literary studies, which foresees the guided deepening of literary knowledge and purposeful making of students’ reader abilities, forming of strong social moral-ethical norms and aesthetic criteria, development of technological thought and well-organized practical activity of schoolchildren is disclosed. Psychological direction of literary researches is characterized. The tendency of a literary work study as the aesthetic phenomenon is grounded. The author argues, that literary study line of national school education is oriented on combination of historically- psychological and structurally-formal methods of cognition of works of a word art, priority of aesthetic orientation of school literature course which assists in forming of students’ reader competence during the literary studies.
