Abstract

The article attempts to give ethical and psychological analysis of thephilosophical views of modern times. Considers the ethical teachingsof prominent thinkers: René Descartes (mechanics of the soul), Francis Bacon (mental solipsism), Thomas Hobbes (power and "cost" of man), Benedict Spinoza (good geometry).
