Abstract
In the article are passed in review the peculiarities of the process of socially psychological adaptation, the features of mechanisms of psychological defence and their functions are investigated. Analyzed both foreign and domestic approaches to understanding the nature of psychological defense mechanisms. The specific of influence of MPD is investigated on personality in the process of interpersonal co operation.
