Abstract

The dissertation is devoted to the possibility of individualization and intensification of the process of teaching the grounds of artificial intelligence in “Computer Science” at the Department of Physics and Mathematics of Pedagogical University; effectiveness of the formation of students’ knowledge and skills in different spheres and levels while applying the differential approach. The work contains the understanding of the essence of the differential approach to teaching “Computer Science” at a higher educational establishment, methodological demands concerning its application. Scientific grounds for the choice of the content of educational material while teaching the basics of artificial intelligence were singled out. Such a choice was based upon the logical approach towards artificial intelligence making use of Prolog, the language of logic programming. Curriculum demands of different types as for the students’ knowledge and skills were presented in the thesis. Scientifically grounded methods of differential approach implementation, which presuppose the use of various kinds and levels of theoretical tasks and practical exercises, elements of module system of teaching process with the rating knowledge control were suggested in the work. Effectiveness of the above methodology has been theoretically grounded and practically proved with the experience of teaching at the higher educational teacher training institution
