Abstract
The article analyzes the major methodological directions of pedagogy development. The main attention is paid to the essence and content of monistic rationalism, pedagogical existentialism, anthropological pedagogy, hermeneutics, phenomenological pedagogy, and synergetics. Basing on these approaches research the author defines their role concerning the effectiveness of their use in theoretical pedagogical and practical activity of a scientist or a teacher.
