Abstract
The methodology of determining the content and structure of information and analytical competence of the head of vocational school with the usage of the focal objects method has been initiated. Its essence lies in transferring the traits of randomly selected objects to information and analytical competence of vocational school leaders - the focal object. The utilisation rate of specific characteristics of information-analytical competence used by the heads of vocational schools institutions in their management activity has been determined. The lot of knowledge, skills and personal qualities are considered a characteristic that provides the ability to implement them at the stage of preparation and taking management decisions. This rate verifies the information and allows to arrive at conclusions about the pedagogic rationale of vocational school head’s information and analytical competence structure and content towards its components: cognitive, functional, and personal. The developed information and analytical competence content completely reflects its professional orientation. The academic findings have resulted in designing of the author's teaching project “The Development of Vocational School Head’s Information and Analytical Competence”. It comprises objectives and tasks, programme, study guide, the site and the blog. It can be implemented in methodological activity of regional vocational academic resource centres to support the Extended Education Programme for education managers. The modern educational technologies of development of vocational school leader’s information and analytical competence have been offered including verified traditional and innovative ones. Pedagogical experiment has justified the practicability of lectures as a form of teaching methods and training complex aimed at development of specific components of the competence structure. The findings have revealed the workshop potentialities for leaders’ training. The author outlines the methodology of e-portfolio as an efficient pedagogic technology aimed at the development of information and analytical competence under the conditions of disperse location of educational institutions and routine workload of educational managers. The results of comparative analysis of information and analytical competence cognitive and functional component development at the state and developing phases of experiment have been presented.
