Abstract
The dissertation deals with the process of forming the translation competence of future philologists. The thesis reveals the methodological basis of the research. The structure of the translation competence was proposed. The additional functions of the interpreter are shown, such as regulatory and translator-transformational functions. The structural-functional model of translation competence is constructed. This model is based on the theoretical analysis of scientific literature. It contains the program of facilitating the formation of the translation competence. The program consists of four parts: a) motivational modeling; b) organizational anticipating; c) content-operational; d) reflexive-evaluative. In the forming experiment the author’s psychological training «The formation of the translation competence of future philologists» was successfully approved. Taking into consideration the results of the forming experiment the peculiarities of the formation of the translational competence of future philologists were formulated: a) the teacher should take into consideration multi-component structure of the translation process, namely its basic functions (informational-analytical, hermeneutic, speech-transformational, organizational-adaptive, interpersonal-communicatory, controlling, cumulative); b) organizing the translational activity of future philologists to update the linguistic, communicative, interpretative, cross-cultural, informational, creative, prognostic, valuable competences, such as social, personal and generally scientific competences; c) actualization by the teacher informational, analytical, prognostic, visual-representational, creative and refleхive skills of students, and the skills to enter into polemic, communicative and organizational skills of future philologists as well as professionally significant abilities; d) the formation of some strategies of implementation of the translation activity: decoding of the meaning; to identify the components of meaning; the interpretation of the meaning; the comparative analysis with the aim to value the cross-cultural phenomena, the establishment of cross-cultural relations and differences; the process of searching to another person the optimal variant of the meaning of translation. It was proved that the translation competence of future philologists will gain the highest level of the development due to IQ level (sufficient, average and above average) and a high level of social intellect, according to the intellectual competence has been formed. This intellectual competence will be revealed in: the wide conception of the world and the formation of competences in general sciences of future philologists; the flexibility and multiple valuation of the events; the ability to show the creative competence in any conditions of the reality, even very difficult ones; the students’ readiness to adopt and understand some unusual, contradictory information; the ability to establish events’ connections: to interpret events, comparing them with the locally-temporal facts; to focus on the identification of significant objectively important aspects of the events; the ability to think in terms of probability within the mental model «what would be if»; the ability to predict the development of certain phenomena in the context of their integral bonds with many other phenomena. Basic psychological factors of forming the translation competence of future philologists were determined: the readiness of the students to participate in the program of formation of the translation competence; the willingness of the students to perform the translation independently and to take the professional decisions on their own; the forming of some basic competences such as cognitive, social-psychological and axiological components of the translation competence; the students’ inclusion into the activities that are close to real-life conditions of their profession and etc
