Abstract
The author analyses methodological requirements for pedagogical researches, leading methodological approaches of pedagogy development and the levels and specificity of the procedures of scientific cognition. Methodology is not a mechanical combination of methods and techniques of knowledge and so on, but a logically ordered system of relationships and interaction of phenomena that shape it. The author considers methodology as a doctrine of the activities’ organization which envisages the distribution of scientific knowledge methods into five main levels: philosophical, general scientific, concrete scientific, disciplinary, interdisciplinary ones. Methodological issues of psychological and educational research, in the author’s opinion, should be considered according to the philosophical foundations of the methodology of scientific cognition. The methodology of pedagogy is a science of the principles and structure of educational theory, principles, approaches and methods of construction and the use of methods of training and the education system organization, of the creation of the concepts of the educational reality improving, as well as the search of pedagogical knowledge, research studies, tools and methods to assess the quality of the received results.
