Abstract

Adaptation of children, adults with special educational needs and their families to the social changes that took place under the conditions of the war on the territory of Ukraine can take years (even after its end). According to the results of UNICEF research, it can be stated that a significant percentage of families have retained the features of destructive, dysfunctional families for quite a long time. period of time. An elevated level was recorded in such families conflicts, lack of coordinated actions, conflicting requirements for a child/adult with special needs; sometimes a compensatory (protective) mechanism can be formed - an unmotivated belief in the possibility of solving the child's/adult's health problems. Such parents can spend a lot of money on healers, healers, often change correctional teachers, psychologists, audiologists, doctors and other specialists, respectively, methods of help and treatment, and in the absence of results, depressive tendencies, unwillingness to engage in active activities, a tendency to rely on external circumstances, and not on one's own strength, the desire to be dependent, etc. There is also a certain part of families that hide a child, an adult with OOP from others, mistakenly believing that they manage to maintain a pretended prestige in the eyes of acquaintances or colleagues. In other critical cases, a child or an adult with special educational needs, deprived of parental and family love, care and qualified assistance, leads a biological existence without receiving minimal skills and abilities.
