Abstract

The article examines the elements of the didactic toolkit in the context of the implementation of the competence approach. The views of the leading domestic linguists on the definition, content and relationship of teaching methods and techniques are systematized and compared. It is noted that a methodically expedient selection of methods determines the effectiveness of the method.
