Abstract

The article is relevant because it reveals the main ways of helping the most vulnerable category of the population of Ukraine during panic attacks, children with special educational needs, under conditions of war and experiencing traumatic events. The purpose of the publication is to reveal the main methods of psychological assistance during panic attacks in children with special educational needs. Observations, conversations, interviews, questionnaires in the process of meetings with children, collection of medical anamnesis were chosen as the main practically oriented research methods. Based on the results of the application of practical research methods, an effective, unified step-by-step psychological support for the specified category of persons has been developed. The article outlines the main methods of psychological assistance, the technique of cognitive-behavioral therapy is chosen as the main one, which should be accompanied by additional communication with parents and educators in order to spread information, practical skills, and actions in situations of panic attacks in children with special educational needs. The research has an evidentiary basis, is a praxeological development, and is still being carried out today on the basis of educational institutions and rehabilitation centers for children with special educational needs, in particular with visual, hearing, intellectual and speech impairments. The main signs of behavior, emotional states of children experiencing panic attacks are characterized. It has been established that panic attacks in children with special educational needs are caused by excessive emotional stress, exhaustion, a traumatic event, stress, and negative dynamics of everyday life. The final result of the research is outlined, namely: the development of a unified protocol for psychological assistance and support for children with special educational needs experiencing panic attacks, their parents, and relatives. At this stage of the research, the obtained results made it possible to formulate effective advice for parents, bystanders, and teachers during the onset of a panic attack in a child.
