Abstract
The report is devoted to the features of military everyday life, which stimulates a person's use of certain practices of self-preservation and recovery. The most common practices among peaceful residents of Ukraine have been identified: household, family, and work practices. Differences in their use characteristic of young, middle-aged, and older people have been clarified. The content targets of the practices are defined: as constructive changes in sense-making, self-attitude, communication with the close environment, and filling the time of one's life with the search for new values and life orientations. It shows how the use of a wide range of stabilizing and transforming practices of self-support and self-recovery, including reflexive-developmental, volunteer, patriotic, informational-analytical, spiritual, etc., contributes to the growth of a person's health-care competence
