Abstract

The model curriculum "Integrated course of literature (Ukrainian and foreign)" for grades 7-9 of general secondary education institutions was prepared at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in accordance with the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education (2020). The structure of the program includes components of learning outcomes, substantive and procedural components. The integrated course of literature (Ukrainian and foreign) for the 7th grade is built as a logical continuation of the study of artistic works in the previous cycle of study according to the thematic-genre principle, with observance of the chronological sequence regarding the presentation of literary personalities within the thematic section. In grades 8–9, the study of the integrated course of literature (Ukrainian and foreign) is based on the chronological-stylistic principle, taking into account the kinds-genre specificity of the works.
