Abstract

The standard curriculum of the Romany language for grades 1–2 of general secondary education institutions was developed in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Education" of 2017, the requirements of the State Standard of Primary Education, approved by Resolution No. 87 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 21, 2018, as well as in accordance to the invariant component of the Standard curricula for institutions of general secondary education with instruction in the Ukrainian language. It is a component of a typical educational program and is based on relevant key European competences: the ability to learn throughout life, to communicate in the state Ukrainian and Romany languages, to communicate in foreign languages, to apply natural sciences and technologies, to use mathematical, information and communication, social and civic, health-saving, general cultural and entrepreneurial competences. The explanatory note defines the purpose, tasks, principles of selection of the content of the educational material, methodological principles of the program, etc. In accordance with them, the content lines of the program are determined. Content lines are implemented through integrated courses such as: 1st class - "Practical oral course" (I semester); "Teaching literacy" (II semester); 2nd grade – integrated course "Teaching literacy"; 3rd grade – integrated course of academic subjects "Roma language", "Reading"; 4th grade – integrated course of academic subjects "Roma language", "Reading". Also, the program presents approximate topics of texts for listening-comprehension, reading and speaking according to the spheres of communication. In the typical study program for the Romani language for grades 1-2, the general and specific expected results and content of the study of the 1st cycle of study are defined. Additionally, the Roman alphabet is presented. The seal "Approved for use in the educational process" was granted in accordance with Protocol No. 13 dated 04/03/2023 of the meeting of the expert commission on languages and literatures of indigenous peoples, national minorities and registered in the Catalog of granting seals to educational literature and educational programs under N 2.0106-2023 (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1naji5evqns8bjx02T5heQCBMb3PAgdNa/edit#gid=20568697 ).
