Abstract

The article updates the issue of updating the content of school literary education and preparing innovative programmatic and educational support for the literature course for grades 5-6, taking into account the requirements of the new State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. The concept of the program and integrated course of literature (Ukrainian and foreign) for the 5th grade of NUS and the textbook «Ukrainian and foreign literature)» for the 5th grade of NUS is presented, which is based on the implementation of reader-centric and text-centric principles in the process of processing artistic texts and educational material. Emphasis is placed on the thematic sections of the textbook and the system of questions of a reproductive, research and creative nature, which methodically and effectively contribute to the formation of reading and key competencies in students.
