Abstract

In theses the question of encouraging students of the younger teenage age to read fiction is updated. The method of formation of reading interests of younger schoolchildren while working with a children's book is considered. The advantages of the educational and methodological complex of Ukrainian literature for 5-6 grades have been proven: by taking into account the age-related psychological and pedagogical characteristics of students, their cognitive interests, and needs, which allows the implementation of the principle of child-centrism in the process of literary education.
