Abstract

The article presents the results of an empirical study aimed at identifying and analyzing differences in the perception by heads of general secondary education institutions of different age groups of the difficulty level in maintaining objectivity when assessing various educational and managerial processes in the context of introducing mechanisms and procedures for internal quality assurance in education. The study conducted with 95% confidence confirmed our assumption that the age of the heads of educational institutions is the sign by which their self-assessment of their own ability to impartially evaluate the vast majority of objects that characterize the activities of the school differs. It was found that these differences manifest themselves between the directors of the youngest group (under 40 years old) and the groups of older directors: 40-60 years old and over 60 years old (the so-called Generation X and Baby Boomers, respectively). At the same time, there were no differences in self-assessments of their own ability to maintain objectivity when assessing objects of managerial influence between representatives of school directors of the two older age categories.
