Abstract

The problem of national-patriotic education of modern pupils-readers has been updated. The new content of the school course of Ukrainian literature for the 5th-6th grades of NUSH is presented in the aspect of the specified problem. The didactic-methodical potential of the current textbook of Ukrainian literature has been revealed for the 5th grade regarding the formation of public competence and national consciousness of students.
