Abstract

Modern transformations of the national system of general secondary education and its shifting to the competence based teaching caused changes in school foreign language education, namely, focusing student educational activities on the development of the ability to master key and subject competencies. Respective changes are to occur in the technology of implementation of the aforementioned competencies into training practice. Speech situation are deemed to be the convenient means. The article addressed the types of communicative tasks for the development of intercultural foreign language communicative competence of the 5th graders and the formation of the ability to situational communication in English.
