Abstract

On the example of a textbook of Ukrainian literature for the 5th grade of general secondary education institutions (written by T. Yatsenko, V. Pakharenko, O. Slyzhuk) it is revealed its main functions: informative, transformational, motivational, developmental and educational, self-educational, aimed at forming the subject reading and key competences of students.
