Abstract
The article describes Serhiy Zhadan's novel "Boarding School" in the context of metamodernism as the leading art direction of today. The author traces the realization of the defining stylistic features of metamodernism in the artistic structure of the novel. It is a journey as a pervasive artistic technique; comprehension and evaluation of the world from the standpoint of dialogic personalism; expressive transsentimentalism; avoidance of unambiguous interpretations and conclusions, fluctuations between opposite poles (vagadal effect); the principle of glocalization; key guidelines for the reconstruction of the world; neomythological subtext; polystylistic style of writing, etc.
