Abstract

The article reveals one of the aspects of the school system of theoretical and literary concepts. The role of the idiolect of the characters as one of the means of their characterization is revealed. The significance of individual speech of characters for the formation of genre and style features of a work of art is determined. When analyzing the images of characters, especially epic works, it is necessary to consider the speech of the main characters, its detailed characteristics, the disclosure of its role in expressing their psychological characteristics, values, spiritual world. The main lines of a comprehensive approach to the development of analytical and synthetic skills of students to carry out linguistic analysis of literary texts are outlined. In the school course of Ukrainian literature, acquaintance with the author's speech and the idiolect of the characters takes place in the 5th grade. Their features are related to the genre and style specifics of literary works, on the example of which high school students get acquainted with these concepts. It is determined that the communicative potential of a literary work for the adolescent reading circle is most vividly transmitted through the teenagers’ idiolect. Observation of the peculiarities of the individual speech of the characters continues in the procesof of textual study of both classical and modern literary works and in extracurricular reading lessons. The most effective will be to understand the idiolect of characters close to students in age, interests, and topics for communication. Dara Korniy analyzes the communicative potential of speech features of teenagers’ speech on the example of stories from the series «Reverse side». The main character of the works is a teenage girl with typical of the modern young generation's preferences, emotions, worldview. All this is clearly reflected in her individual speech: language inversions, jargon, constant expressions. Paying students' attention to the speech constructions used by the main character, we do not comment on their normative / non-normative in terms of word usage, because for the initial perception of the literary text it is important to assimilate general impressions of the work, not the narrow speech constructs. The necessity of synthesis of linguistic and literary approaches to the analysis of the diastyle by author and individual speech of the characters as its component is determined.
