Abstract

The paper outlines the problem of implementing the competency approach in textbooks of Ukrainian literature for 5th grade secondary schools, which is to rethink the way of presenting educational material related to the theory of literature, biographical information about the writers whose work is studied, questions and tasks, illustrative material textbook, etc. Suggestions are made on what the authors should pay attention to when creating a competency-oriented textbook of Ukrainian literature for 5th grade.
