Abstract

Emphasis is placed on the problem of reading schoolchildren in the modern information society and the importance of acquiring a sufficient level of reader literacy. The didactic and methodological potential of current textbooks of Ukrainian literature for 10th and 11th grades (standard level), prepared by the author's team of researchers of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, as an important factor in shaping the reading culture of modern students, increasing their reading literacy.
