Abstract

The purpose of the article is a comprehensive review of the psychological phenomenon of "social development" and the definition of its structure, mechanisms and characteristics at preschool age. Theoretical methods were used: logical-semantic and structural-logical methods to clarify the concept of "social development" and to analyze its structure, mechanisms and characteristics at preschool age. The essence of the phenomenon of "social development" and its two lines is revealed: socialization and individualization. It is established that the gradual separation of the child from the adult creates a new social situation in which she seeks independence. This tendency in the preschool age is natural and constant. It has been found that the social contacts of children with visual impairments are weaker and more unstable than normal.
