Abstract

The article deals with the development of special education in independent Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to carry out a historical and pedagogical analysis of the development of the special education system in independent Ukraine. The authors reveal the features of development and improvement of the special education system in Ukraine through analysis, comparison, systematization and generalization. The authors of the article briefly characterize the three components of the education system for persons with special needs: achievements, problems and ways of development, and also consider the main trends of modern reformation of special education in Ukraine, namely inclusive education as the most significant innovative movement in education of the twentieth century.
