Abstract

The article highlights an urgent problem for Ukrainian education of providing consistency of learning foreign languages in the dimension «high profile school – higher educational institutions». Based on the analysis of school and University curricula, questioning of students and teachers, the authors conclude that the principle of consistency is flawed as very often learning foreign languages in school and University lacks methodological and content integrity. The authors define factors that negatively influence consistency of foreign language learning in high school and Universities as well as outline possible ways of overcoming these negative trends in the system of Ukrainian education.
