Abstract

The physical component of the State standard of the basic and the secondary education in 2011 was updated taking into consideration the traditions of the development of the academic processes in the developed countries. The qualitative feature of the new state standard is the fact that it is based on the competence, personality-oriented and activity-based approaches. At the same time, the traditional definition of the unified results and the requirements to the school physical education can predetermine certain non-compliance in the process of the implementation of these ideas in the school practice. In order to take a jaundice view on this opportunity, we analysed the educational programs and the criteria of the assessment of the pupils’ academic achievements in Physics for the secondary school that will be realized in 2015. The purpose of the analysis is the observation of the features of updating the aim, the tasks, and the content of the basic Physics course in the educational programs and the criteria of the assessment of the pupils’ academic achievements, the determination of the correspondence of the updated content of the physical component of the educational branch «Natural Sciences» to the European education tendencies, the definition of the interrelations between the academic results and the purpose as well as the tasks of the branch, the criteria of modelling the textbooks on Physics on the basis of the competence approach. During the analysis, it was found that the content lines which were defined in the standard are not categorical components of the structure of the Physics school course, and such tendencies of European education as making Physical knowledge more practical and applied, ecologisation, and professional orientation of the content remain to be unrealized. For this purpose, we suggested such kind of approaches to modelling the school textbooks in Physics that follow the principles of the competence-oriented studying. First of all, the textbook content must constantly stimulate a pupil to analyse the represented material, to compare facts, to draw analogues, to compare with the material that was learnt earlier. The system of tasks and questions, the problematic situations in the text of the paragraph must make the pupil’s comprehension process easier, help him to improve his knowledge and skills, teach him to analyze the large amount of information. Those textbooks components that develop the pupil’s individuality provide all necessary conditions for his self-development and self-realization remain to be significant.
