Abstract

The authors of the article share their experience of constructing tests for monitoring of educational achievements of 5th and 10th grade students in foreign languages, which took place in Ukraine in 2013. Within the framework of the problem the authors suggest a constructive analysis of correspondence of Ukrainian monitoring to international standards in this sphere. Types of tests are illustrated in the article. It is also stated that the process of constructing tests revealed some methodological impeccabilities of teaching foreign languages at school. Thus the authors suggest corresponding amendments to school curriculum.
