Abstract

The article deals with the problem of gender representations in the content of school textbooks as a vital psychological and didactic factor of providing efficient learning process and shaping corresponding patterns of social behavior. Based on a thorough study of pedagogic and psychological literature the author defines criteria for analyzing peculiarities of gender representations in school textbooks. Contemporary school foreign language textbooks are analyzed in regard to the suggested criteria.
