Abstract
The scientific and theoretical statements which are put in the conception of a manual on the elective course “German-speaking countries” for the students of senior school are reflected in the article. Methodological foundations for creating this conception are covered, the dominant approaches to studying foreign languages in modern school foreign education such as competence, communicative-active, personality oriented and culturological are singled out. The main normalities and principle which are the basis of forecast manual’s content are determined. The content of this manual must provide a deep and professionally orientated mastering German by senior pupils, taking into account their individual features, interests, reasons, capabilities, intentions. The basic requirements to the thematic modules are described, the criteria of texts selection to the manual are characterised. Methodical organization of elective course’s content is outlined, its aim and tasks that will be realized in the manual “German-speaking countries” for the students of a senior school are formulated. Its structure and contents are described. The results of senior pupils’ studies after this manual are prognosticated.
