Abstract

Theoretical bases of the formation of professional ideals of senior pupils are exposed in the article. Philosophical, psychological, pedagogical works are analyzed in which the mentioned problem is considered. Theoretical foundations for the research of the concept «professional ideal» are determined, from one side, by social views of the personality as a performer of various functions: political, humanistic, aesthetic etc., and from the other side — by the development of industrial production and its requirements for highly skilled specialists. Two tendencies in understanding of the essence and value of the professional ideal in the activity and development of personality are defined. It is the double nature of ideal, in our opinion, that represents its vitality and contradiction; its content has temporal and concrete character. This fully explains ultimately opposed views of the issue developed by famous philosophers, psychologists and pedagogues. The article deals with the specific of ideals, sources of their formation, their importance for practical reality.
