Abstract

This article investigates an experience of institutional repositories implementing. It contains comparative analysis of the most popular software (platform) for organization of digital library. The authors of the article defined different approaches of digital libraries development. The basic functional features of digital library software management are considered aiming to investigate opportunities of their usage in higher educational establishments. The digital archives and institutional repositories changed access methods of retrieving relevant information on students’ scientific work. Basic advantages and disadvantages of the use of commercial software are described. Expediency of the use of the systems of DSpace and EPrints is reasonable.
