Abstract

Thi article is devoted to the analyses of the main models of university in contemporary Western academic literature. The author mentions, that the peculiarities of university mission in contemporary world are connected with innovative character of our civilization (temporal challenge) and internationalization of teaching and research activities (spatial challenge). As a conclusion, the author provides his vision of the main criteria of the efficiency of university in our time.
