Abstract
The article raises the problem of educating family values in pupils of high school level. There are different approaches in scientific literature to defining the essence of the concept «values of family life» with respect to senior schoolchildren. Family life values are considered as a complex, integrated entity that includes a stable positive motivation for creating a family (marriage), updating knowledge and social skills needed to implement the functions of the family, the development of personal qualities of future wife or husband, the ability to empathy and understanding of the partner, constructive behavior in the relationship. The components of the concept «family life values» include the following categories: the value of marriage as a form of family, orientation on birth and upbringing of the child/children in legal marriage, love, mutual respect and understanding in the family. The structural components (cognitive (knowledge and understanding), motivational-value (motivation and value orientation), practical (subject-subjectinteraction in the family, self-regulation of behavior), criteria and indicators of family life values of senior schoolchildren are defined. The following levels of family life values of senior schoolchildren: high, medium, low, are outlined.
