Abstract
The article deals with the essence of moral self-consciousness of personality as the awareness of oneself, one’s moral values, attitudes, skills, potential, actions, their motives and effects, adjusting own behavior and moral self-improvement. It is noticed that the development of moral self-consciousness of children and youth in modern terms should be directed at the formation of the system of humanistic values. Basic values of moral self-consciousness are defined such as freedom, responsibility,dignity, conscience, self-sufficiency. The basic components of education of moral self-consciousness of children and youth are researched: knowledge, value attitudes, interests, emotions, feelings, needs and motivations, self-esteem, reflection, practical activity, will, high moral values, ideals, self-education.
