Abstract
The article reviews the conceptual foundations of creation of a textbook of Mathematics, taking into account the age- and cognitive abilities and interests of students, psychological features of the educational process, the specifi cs of the subject, its goals, objectives and functions, the requirements of existing programs and state standards. Considerable attention is paid to the mechanisms of the updated content in a textbook of Mathematics education, formation of the communicative, informational and communicative, design and technological competencies. It deals with the mechanisms of educational, developmental, educational functions executed by a textbook of Mathematics, taking into account the individual abilities, talents, aptitudes, interests, needs, personalities and learning opportunities that provide a consistent training aimed at the self-realization, lifelong learning and professional mobility in adulthood.
