Abstract

The digitalization of scholarly communication is transforming not only the methods of storing and disseminating information but also the nature of the bibliographic data that describes it. Consequently, educational libraries are gradually moving beyond their traditional role as intermediaries between the user and the document, becoming involved in the creation, structuring, description, and identification of documents, bibliographic records, and associated data. The aim of the report is to define the role and functional capabilities of information and bibliographic resources within the modern research infrastructure, taking into account the institutional structure of educational libraries, as well as the technological status and digital characteristics of these resources. Research methods include systemic and structural-functional approaches, applied to describe the structure, functions, and digital characteristics of educational library resources. Research results — uneven digital integration of information and bibliographic resources across the educational library network was identified, driven by disparities in technical equipment, software solutions, and bibliographic description formats. Conclusions — digital transformation must entail a shift from the mere accumulation and presentation of resources to the creation of an information environment where bibliographic data can be discovered, uniquely identified, linked with other data, and reused.
