Abstract

The paper examines contemporary approaches to preparing pre-service primary school teachers to teach computer science. It discusses microlearning, problem-based, inquiry-based and project-based learning, gamification and CS Unplugged as approaches to organizing learning activities in primary school. Particular emphasis is placed on providing prospective teachers with practical experience of these approaches and developing their ability to integrate digital and non-digital resources in pedagogically appropriate ways.
