Abstract
The paper outlines and systematizes the key theoretical and methodological foundations for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into educational research within the framework of a developed theoretical model. It addresses the current challenge of fragmented AI application by offering a coherent conceptual framework. Five core foundations of integration are identified: comprehensiveness, human–AI interaction, reliability of results, processuality, and systemicity. The study highlights that implementing these foundations relies on fundamental principles of responsible AI use (ethics, human oversight, confidentiality, accountability, and transparency), viewing AI as an intellectual partner to the researcher. The systematized foundations provide a theoretical basis for the future development, verification, and testing of a systemic (structural-functional) model of AI integration in educational research.
