Abstract

The abstract substantiates the axiological foundations of creating and utilizing digital collections in the educational process as a system of values, principles, and semantic guidelines that govern the selection, structuring, preservation, and dissemination of digital resources. Scientific approaches to understanding digital collections as socially oriented educational systems and value-driven tools of the educational environment are analyzed. Key values determining the functioning of digital collections are identified and characterized: humanistic orientation, accessibility and educational fairness, cultural and historical continuity, ethical responsibility, openness and collaboration, innovativeness, and orientation towards sustainable development. The stages of forming digital collections and the criteria for selecting materials are outlined. It is proven that applying the axiological approach allows for overcoming a technocratic view of digital resources, aiming them instead at personal development and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage.
