Abstract

The theses reveal the historical principles of the development of special education for people with hearing impairments and highlight the contribution of Józef-August Ilinski to the creation of the first specialized institution for deaf children. The significance of his activities for the development of deaf pedagogy and the formation of modern approaches to psychological and pedagogical support, in particular, the comprehensiveness and individualization of learning, is substantiated.
